Charmaine “Charm” Marcia Forde
Receptionist
Charm’s voice is one of the first you will hear when calling the Funeral Home. A very bubbly personality. Charmaine joined the team at Jo-Anne Jones Funeral Services in 2006. Charmaine is a graduate of St. Leonard’s Girls’ School.
Valda Laval Dowrich
Funeral Director; Embalmer
Valda wears a ready smile, is very easy going, gentle and soft spoken. “Val,” as he is affectionately called, joined the team at Jo-Anne Jones Funeral Services in 2006. He is a graduate of SJPP and locally trained in embalming.
Sonia Browne-Fergusson
Administrative Manager
Sonia joined the team in 2008 and worked very closely with the late Jo-Anne Jones. Sonia is responsible for arranging funerals, accounting, and the day-to-day operations of the office. Sonia is a trained Managerial Secretary having completed studies at the SJPP and furthered her studies at the Barbados Community Collage and BIMAP. She is very professional and extremely helpful.
Eleanor Rosevelt Stoute
Funeral Assistant
Eleanor joined the staff in 2013. Her responsibilities lie in arranging funerals and assisting in administrative duties. She is a graduate of Foundation Secondary School and is a trained Pastor. She also conducts funeral services when the need arises and counsels grieving families when necessary.
Raymond Devon Waithe
Funeral Director
Raymond joined the team in 2009, and after a short break rejoined us. He has a passion for his job and is always looking for and suggesting ways to improve our service to our grieving families. He is a graduate of Princess Margaret Secondary School and in 2019 graduated from a Public Speaking Course. He is the darling of many and goes the extra mile to ensure families are satisfied.
Terry Peter Springer
Assistant to the Funeral Director
Terry joined the team in 2009 and after a short break rejoined the team. He can be described as a true gentleman, always ready to help. No task is too menial for him to undertake. He loves to drive and is the assigned truck driver. He is a graduate of the St. George Secondary School.
Sylvester Junior Blackett
Assistant to the Funeral Director
Sylvester or “Bird” as he is affectionately called joined the team in 2010. He was born in Guyana and received his secondary education at St. Winifred’s School in Guyana. He is very pleasant, soft spoken and carries a ready smile.
Sandrene Maynard
Office Cleaner and Assistant
Sandrene is one of the longest serving employees on the team. She joined us in 2006 and is our office cleaner while also sometimes filling the role of answering the telephone and assisting families where necessary.
James Wedderburn
Team Leader
James “Jim” Wedderburn joined the Jo-Anne Jones family after his marriage to the late Jo-Anne Jones. After her passing, he continued on as the Team Leader. Jim is the first Olympic medalist for Barbados, earning a bronze medal in the 1960 olympics.
